With “Prince Avalanche” in theatres and ambitious “Manglehorn” with Al Pacino in his kitty, director David Gordon Green seems excited about his next “Joe” starring the Nicholas Cage.
Quoting Green in an interview, “It’s Nicolas Cage in a movie that’s not like anything Nicolas Cage has done before. It’s dark as fuck. It’s a slow-burn, dark, heavy movie. Very grim.” With Tye Sheridian as co-cast – the movie is based on a Larry Brown novel.
Cage plays an ex-con who meets a 15 year old boy and faces the choice – either to redeem or to ruin. The film releases on 30th August at Venice Film Festival. The film will be shown on 9th September at Toronto International Film festival also.
