Amitabh Bachchan and Leonardo DiCaprio to Act Together in The Great Gatsby

“Bachchan, the elder statesman of Indian cinema and one of the most recognised faces on the planet, will play the role of Meyer Wolfsheim,” Warner Bros said in a statement.

Fitzgerald‘s The Great Gatsby is an ill-fated love story of Jay Gatsby who turns bootlegger to win the heart of his lady love, a superficial society woman married to a rich man. Based on the American society after First World War in 1920s, The Great Gatsby considered a classic in its own way.

The USD 125 million film will be directed by Baz Luhrmann of Moulin Rouge and Australia fame. Bachchan will play Meyer Wolfsheim, a man with a dark past, who helps DiCaprio’s character make money when he first comes to New York after the First World War.

Along with Amitabh Bachchan and DiCaprio the movie will see Carey Mulligan, Maguire to act in important roles.
