She is a woman of many talents but nothing stirs her soul more than dance. It doesn’t come as a surprise, then, that Farah Khan is agreed to be a part of TV’s latest dance reality show ‘Dil Se Naachein Indiawaale’ – a hunt for India’s happiest dancer.
Spectralhues caught her for a Quiz on what a ‘happy dancer’ really is and she looks to Bollywood for examples.
“Dancers can be brilliant on two levels – either they can floor you with their technique, their natural sense of rhythm, the cleanliness of their moves and their sheer prowess over a particular dance style. Or they could be a part of another distinct breed that can bring a smile to your face, despite their limited command over any specific style. They just look at dance as an outlet for expressing all the joy they hold within. They dance with sheer aplomb, without the slightest inhibition, as if no one were watching. Bollywood has seen some exceptionally gifted technical dancers and some who fall in the latter category. When I look back at some of the most iconic dancers Bollywood has seen over the years, I would like to think of Shammi Kapoor, Govinda, Dharmendra, Jitendra and more recently Ranveer Singh as actors who belong to this school of dancing.” She adds, “Happy New Year, as a film, also centers around non-dancers attempting to participate in a world dancing championship. And they manage to do so purely with the happiness in their dancing. So, in that sense, both our film as well as the show, are a celebration of happy dancing!”
With the hottest celebrity panel ever on Indian television, an all-new genre of dancing and the first-of-its-kind dance tour with a mission to spread joy and happiness across the country, Dil Se Naachein Indiawaale, promises to be the biggest entertainment extravaganza this Diwali!
