If you are looking for a plot in Director Rohit Dhawan’s action comedy ‘Dishoom’, you shouldn’t be expecting it. Like he did in ‘Desi Boyz’, this one is fun to watch if you are looking for some bromance. John Abraham and Varun Dhawan play it well as two cops who become buddies while working in an important case. While John’s two expressions work for him here as a stern and humourless cop, Varun’s energy coupled with his comic timing is just what was needed to make the two worthy of being watched together.
There is also quite a hilarious cameo by Akshay Kumar playing a gay who gets the two cops stripped. Jacqueline Fernandez is just there for the sake of it; just that she has more screen space than Nargis Fakhri in a cameo too. Saqib Saleem bats well like a real batsman. While it’s nice to have Akshaye Khanna back on screen after a hiatus, it is also disappointing because he is hardly there. A fine actor like him could have made a better comeback.
‘Dishoom’ is fast-paced and it’s entertaining for most of the time. The action is just okay; the comedy better.
