The Hilarious ‘On AIR WITH AIB’!

The AIB guys are back, and this time with their own news comedy show ‘ON AIR WITH AIB’. Up on HOTSTAR, this show has two versions: English, hosted by Rohan Joshi and Ashish Shakya and the Hindi, featuring Gursimran Khamba and Tanmay Bhat. Both the episodes run for approximately 24 minutes. After some hilarious promotions, the first episode is finally up. The episode starts with the hosts talking about whistle blowers in India. They go ahead to site a few examples of people who were murdered trying to bring out the scam like Satyendra Dubey and  Shanmugam Manjunath.

Later, the hosts take up the case of Ashish Chaturvedi, a major whistle blower in the Vyapam scam and raise the topic of the various amendments in the Whistle blower Act. And all of this they do in their own hilarious way.

The first episode ends with an interview of the independent political candidate Dr K Padmarajan, being famous for losing most elections ever. This 24 minutes long episode also includes a hilarious spoof featuring ‘jaane-maane’ on screen antagonist Prakash Raj. There is nothing more the audience could have asked for, right from the small opening song to the tempo for the show.

Brilliantly, they justify their tagline ‘Tragedy main Comedy’ by talking about the current issues only the way in which they can. The English version somewhat gives the vibes of ON AIR WITH JOHN OLIVER. The Hindi version, on the other hand, sails more smoothly, mostly because of the ease with which it is delivered by the hosts. Not to forget, the show is performed in front of a live audience! The jokes strike the right cords and leave the audience in splits while making them think.
