Famous for playing the roles of affectionate motherly characters, doyen actress Sulabha Deshpande bade adieu to the world today evening.
She succumbed to a long-term illness, owing to her old age. The news of her demise has sent gloomy waves throughout the entertainment industry.
She has marked indelible impressions with her incomparable acting caliber on silver screen, television as well as theatre. In 1973 she established her own theatre company Awishkar along with her husband.
She is well known for her roles from movies like ‘Arvind Desai Ki Ajeeb Dastaan’, ‘Jait Re Jait’, ‘Chaukat Raja’, ‘Virasat’ and ‘Gaman’. Her recent work includes Gauri Shinde’s ‘English-Vinglish’.
Although Deshpande is no more amongst us, her unforgettable work will always stay alive in our hearts.
