Miss Venezuela wins Miss Universe crown

Miss Venezuela Maria Gabriela Isler won Miss Universe crown on Saturday night in Moscow. She is the third Miss Universe from Venezuela in last six years.

A popular television anchor, 25-year-old Isler beat beauties from Spain, Brazil, Ecuador and the Philippines in the final round to win the 61st Miss Universe crown.

Patricia Rodrigues from Spain became first runner-up, while Miss USA, Erin Brady adjourned 2nd runner up. 86 countries have participated in this year’s Miss Universe edition.

Miss Nicaragua won National Costume contest and Miss Philippines won fan favorite title along with Ice Princess Glam Shoot title.

Miss India Manasi Moghe reached to the top 10 but failed to make it to the final five.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has sent his congratulations to Maria Gabriela Isler after winning the pageant.
