Law and Order star Dennis Farina passed away

Tough detective of New York-based TV series Law and Order, Dennis Farina, died on Monday in Arizona, after he suffered from a blood clot in his lung. He was 69.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of a great actor and a wonderful man. Dennis Farina was always warmhearted and professional, with a great sense of humor and passion for his profession. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and colleagues,” said his publicist, Lori De Waal, in a statement.

Dennis Farina was a Chicago policeman in real life before he started acting. He gained his popularity with his role as police detective Joe Fontana in Law and Order. He also acted in series like ‘Crime Story’ and ‘Miami Vice’.

He also acted in films like Midnight Run, The Mod Squad, Get Shorty and Snatch.
