Junaita Moore, the Afro-American actor passes away at her home in Los Angeles. She was 99 years old. Moore received a supporting actress nomination for Douglas Sirk’s “Imitation of Life” in the year 1959.
In that racially-themed film, she played a housekeeper whose daughter passes for white. She actually broke the African American barrier in the Hollywood – getting nomination for the Oscars.
She is survived by her grandson Kirk Kahn and two nephews.
