Founder and Chairman of Bose Corporation, Amar Gopal Bose passed away in his Philadelphia house on Friday. He was 83.
Amar Bose, who popularly known as the acoustics pioneer changes the modern audio technology.
“Dr. Bose founded Bose Corporation almost 50 years ago with a set of guiding principles centered on research and innovation. That focus has never changed,” Bose Corporation President, Bob Maresca said in a statement.
Amar Bose was faculty at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for more than 40 years and he began his acoustics research here. He donated a majority of Bose Corp. stock to MIT in 2011 for advance education and research mission.
“He made quality mentoring and a joyful pursuit of excellence, ideas and possibilities the hallmark of his career in teaching, research and business,” MIT President L. Rafael Reif said in a statement.
