Noted director Nagesh Kukunoor is all set to start his next film on the desert of Rajasthan. This time he will portray the journey of 8-year-old blind boy through Rajasthan.
Famous for not making stereotype Bollywood film, Nagesh sounds very excited about this film.
“It is a film revolving around two young children with a fablesque element of magic. The idea emerged from a conversation about a blind boy and his sister and the image of a film came together just like that! Thereafter, the story evolved organically,” the filmmaker told a daily.
Nagesh accept that to choose the lead actor will be long and tough process, and this time he is looking for a boy who can convincingly play the role of a blind.
“I know it’s a tough task and have already started what promises to be a really long audition process. For Rockford I screen-tested 500 kids and had 100 of them on tape. For this one, I already have 150 kids on tape. But I’m confident of soon finding my eight-year-old protagonist and his 10-year-old sister who sets off with him on an journey across Rajasthan with the promise that before he turns nine he will get his eyesight back,” said Kukunoor.
While discussing a project with producer Manish Mundra, Nagesh casually mentioned about this story and Manish immediately jumped upon to make it first.
“Manish immediately said, lets start this one first,” he said adding, “This journey was supposed to begin only next year, but now it will in the next two months.”
On his preference to shoot in Rajasthan the writer-director said, “Yesterday when I sat down with the team I realised that we have listed close to 60 locations for this road film. I’ll shoot it with my usual aggression, which is a startto-finish 32-day schedule.”
Surely Nagesh’s fans are looking forward to see yet another amazing movie.
