June 22nd, 2015 was a pretty eventful day for author Amish Tripathi, ahead of his book launch, which took place at the Crossword, Kemps Corner. What was the fuss about, you must be wondering? Well, Amish Tripathi released his first book of the Ram Chandra series, Scion of Ikshvaku. And boy, the book store was jam-packed!
Following are the transcripts of the short interview with the pop star of Indian authors:
How excited are you for the book launch?
I am more nervous than I am excited. The book will be released in just few more hours. I am on the edge.
Your work is considered contemporary, there are a lot of people who think that it’s kind of wrong to give a twist to mythology. Your views on it?
I don’t think this is true. As a matter of fact, people tell me that they love the fact that I bring freshness to the stories. We have been taught about mythology more like history, there is no proper story as such. That’s what I write — I write stories.
Which age group does this book series target?
Absolutely anyone can read the book as long as they are able to understand what’s written.
How many books are you planning to write for this series?
Five books, that’s what’s been decided as of now. But it might get extended to six books.
Any message for our readers?
I hope you all grab a copy of Scion of Ikshvaku and enjoy it. JAI SHREE RAM!
Thank you for interacting with us, sir!
