Daman Singh, the second of
Dr. Manmohan Singh’s three daughters and a graduate from St Stephens College, is writing a biography of her parents.
Dr.Manmohan Singh was born on 26th Sept 1932 in Gah (Punjab) while his wife Gursharan Kaur is from Dhakkal near Chakwal (presently in Pakistan). They were married in 1958.
Daman is the author of “The Sacred Grove”, “Nine By Nine”, and “Denial” – all fiction. She is also the author of a nonfictional work titled “The Last Frontier: The People And Forests Of Mizoram”.
Daman Singh told IANS. “It will take time, but I have gathered quite a bit of information and material on my parents’ early life by talking to those who knew both of them – friends, relatives, acquaintances and my father’s colleagues.”
