Wizard World and its fans must be over the moon as author JK Rowling has announced to release the eighth installment of best-selling Harry Potter series. The title “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” will be released as a two-part book, at 12:01 a.m. on July 31, 2016. It will be published by Little Brown UK and will be available both in book and e-book format.
“Pottermore is proud to be a key part of the multi-platform effort that will allow the epic eighth Harry Potter story to be read and enjoyed by a wider, global audience,” Pottermore site announces.
The decision comes after a “massive public demand”, who want to experience the London-excitement where the “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” play is set to make its debut at the Palace Theatre on Harry’s birthday, July 30.
According to Pottermore, the story will take readers 19 years after the completion of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”. Harry Potter is now “an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children Albus and James and Lily”.
In “Harry Pottter and the Cursed Child,” Albus finds it difficult to cope “with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted,” the announcement said. “As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: Sometimes darkness comes from unexpected places.”
