To boost Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s successive campaign “Swachh Bharat”, India’s largest publishing house of comic book and graphic novel series, Amar Chitra Katha has decided to publish book on this clean India initiative.
Last week The Ministry of Urban Development and Amar Chitra Katha signed MOU to publish and distribute a special 32-page comic in English and in Hindi.
“Given that youth and students are one of the biggest change agents for any social transformation, the comic book would aim to engage with them in an innovative manner,” Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu told reporters.
“I hope the comic book goes on to inspire children to take steps and create a long-lasting impact on the cleanliness of their homes, schools, neighbourhoods and eventually their cities… I hope that this initiative will push the Swachh Bharat Mission one step further towards making it a ‘jan andolan’,” Naidu added.
The book will include the Mission of “Swachh Bharat”, cleanliness rankings of cities, public figures and ambassadors, environmental impact and stories of individuals and organisations which will motivate children to remain ‘Swachh”’.
