Juhu is a happening place in Mumbai. Famous for the Juhu Chowpatty and celebrity sightings, this part of the city also has a great influence of Theatre.
The Prithvi Theatre owned and managed by the Kapoor family is one of the most iconic places in the city. Located in a quaint lane, away from all the noises of the busy streets, this Theatre has a Café just outside, the Prithvi Café.
An open air Café with lights dangling from above, this place is buzzing at any given time. Right from college students to old people, Prithvi Cafe feels like home to everyone. The cool, casual ambience of the Café sets one at ease. Right from ‘Parathe waali gali’ to ‘Italy ka pasta’ everything here is delicious! The Nachos served by Prithvi Café are a rage! Amazing tortillas with cheese and a generous topping of either beans or chicken or both with a huge dollop of sour cream! The mixed sauce pasta here is what dreams are made of. Tangy, flavoursome and filling, the penne pasta is dished out hot with garlic Pav!
But, the heros are the Parathas! The aloo paratha is a favourite. Heavy due to the generous amount of filling, the Parathas are dished out with a pickle, a raita and a dal makhani. The Parathas pack a punch of flavour, but it is the Daal makhani who steals the show. Perfect is the only word which comes to mind as it leaves a lasting impression on your tongue. The Parathas are a wholesome meal and classic comfort food. Pair them with their Beer bottle chaas, and you are sorted!
To cater to the sweet tooth, the Waffles are at your service. But, honestly, the giant pastry aptly named Vertigo, steals all the thunder. The Irish Coffee is the iconic drink which all the patrons swear by.
On a rainy day, if you are feeling too adventurous, you can try their Suleimani Chai. Or the good old cutting chai with Bun maska will soothe your soul.
Prithvi Café is not just a place to visit for the food. It’s an experience in itself. One of the many faces of Mumbai is right here, at Prithvi!
Definitely recommended
Happy Binging!
