Facebook unveils ‘HTC First’

Social Networking giant Facebook has finally unveiled the much awaited smartphone ‘HTC First’ which built specially for Facebook Home using Facebook’s new Android app at a event in California on April 04.

The HTC First will be launched on April 12 in US.

HTC First is the only smartphone which caters Facebook Home pre-loaded and optimized features.

“Today, we’re launching a new mobile app to bring Facebook to the most popular mobile phones around the world. The Facebook for Feature Phones app works on more than 2,500 devices from Nokia, Sony Ericsson, LG and other manufacturers, and it was built in close cooperation with Snaptu. The app provides a better Facebook experience for our most popular features, including an easier-to-navigate home screen, contact synchronization, and fast scrolling of photos and friend updates.” Mark Heynen wrote on Fcebook blog.

AT&T is the exclusive seller of HTC First and they are offering $99 on a 2-year agreement.

“It’s not designed to be a big phone, but a phone that feels good,” AT&T said.

HTC First comes with 4.3″ touchscreen, 5 megapixel rear-facing camera and LTE capability. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor.

The phone will be available in red, light blue, white, and black colour.

However there is no news from Facebook as to when they are going to launch the HTC First in India.
