Another beach to visit in Pondicherry is Paradise Beach, one of the cleanest and most beautiful sand beach in Pondicherry. The way to get to this Beach is through Chunnambar Beach resort i.e. a Ferry not a resort that will drop you at the beach.
Auroville or City of Dawn was founded by Mirra Alfassa (also known as “The Mother”) and designed by architect Roger Anger and is situated in Viluppuram distrirct near Pondicherry is a unique city to visit. This experimental township was built with the purpose to realize human unity. In the middle of this town is “Matrimendir” known for its outstanding and original architectural achievement. The surface of the dome has 56 kg of Gold. And a 70 cm crystal ball in a gold mount in its center which glows with a single ray of sunlight that is directed on the globe from the top of the structure.
Talk a walk down the streets of this earnest French Colony and admire the French Architecture. Other places to visit in Pondicherry are Rue du Petit Canal on Mission Street; Sacred Heart Church; Notre Dame des Anges church for its splendid French design.
