Toshiba Thrive has a 10.1 inch, LED-backlit touchscreen display with 1200×800 pixel resolution. It hasa 5 MP camera at the back and a 2 MP camera in the front. It is driven by a 1 GH NVIDIA Dual-core Tegra 2 Processor and runs on Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) Operating System. The device is thicker and heavier than other well-known tablets.
Toshiba Thrive has an SD card slot and has USB connectivity. The back panel can be replaced with one of various available colours. The Thrive tablet PC has one USB 2.0 port, one Mini USB port, one HDMI-out port and one SD Card slot.
The battery of Thrive can be quick-charged to 90% of its capcity in just about 90 minutes.
The Thrive is reported to have a lock button that prevents the screen from rotating when the phone is rotated accidentally.
Toshiba Thrive is less expensive than several other well-known tablets: the 8GB version cosgts $429.99, the 16GB version costs $479.99, and the 32GB version costs $579.99.
According to Toshiba, the Thrive Tablet PC presents “a better way to browse the Web, enjoy e-books and HD videos, play games, listen to music” etc.
