Sony launches PlayStation 4

Japanese electronics giant Sony Corporation launches its much awaited new gaming system the PlayStation 4 on Wednesday.

According to sony, Playstation 4, which also refers as a “supercharged PC”, is “the fastest, most powerful gaming network” in the world.

“Today marks a moment of truth and a bold step forward for PlayStation,” said Andrew House, CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment, at the launch.

The lead system architect on the PS4, Mark Cerny, said, “Our long-term vision is to reduce download times of digital titles to zero”.

Sony launched PS4 after a gap of almost 7 years since the PlayStation 3 launch in 2006.

Sony has, however, not revealed its price and availability date.
