Samsung unveils Galaxy Gear smartwatch

Remember syp thriller movies, especially Bond movies, where James Bond makes secret calls through his watch and we wonder if we had one! Don’t worry now you can be a secret agent too. Just you need to buy Galaxy Gear smartwatch.

Samsung launched much-awaited Galaxy Gear, a smartwatch on Wednesday at IFA event in Berlin. Samsung claims that Smartwatch Gear can act as a smartphone too as users can make calls, check incoming messages on its 1.63 inches diagonally OLED display screen.

The Gear features 1.9 Megapixel camera and integrated with popular social media such as Twitter and Facebook and with fitness apps RunKeeper.

The Gear smart watch is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos 4212 processor and it runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system. It also features microphone and speakers  NFC and Bluetooth. It has 4GB internal storage and 512MB RAM.

Gear gives almost 24 hours battery back up for normal usage and around 10 hours with active use.

The 74 grams weights Samsung Galaxy Gear smart watch will be available from September 25 at around $299 (Rs. 20,000 aprrox)
