Samsung launched the galaxy S7 and S7 edge at mobile world congress in Barcelona a while back and if reports are to be believed Samsung plans to launch the phone in India somewhere in this week.
As of the specifications go the S7 features a 5.1 inch QHD (2560 X 1440) Super AMOLED display. Under the hood the phone is powered by either a Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 depending on the location, taking a cue from past experiences it’s highly likely that the Exynos version would come to India. There is 4 GB of RAM and a 32 or 64 GB memory storage option available along with the presence of a micro SD slot for expansion of memory which was missing in the S6.
There is a 12 MP rear camera with OIS and PDAF the aperture of the camera is f/1.7, for the selfie addicts there is a 5 MP f/1.7 camera module for those perfect selfies.
The S7 houses a 3,000 mAh battery to power the device with Quickcharge 2.0, wireless charging capabilities and wireless Qucikcharge ability to charge the phone from 0 to 60 in 30 minutes. The front of the phone houses a finger print sensor embedded in the home key while the rear houses a heart rate sensor.
Samsung has opted to go the hybrid route and has giving user the option to either use 2 sim cards or a sim card and a memory card. The phone is also water proof with IP68 certification.
On the software front the phone runs Android marshmallow wrapped under TouchWiz UI Samsungs own custom skin and also has an always on display.
