Motorola ATRIX With Fingerprint Recognition

That is what we can call the Motorola ATRIX. It’s perhaps the most powerful smartphone around with all kind of technical features; and the phone can recognise its owner’s fingerprint.

Motorola Atrix is the world’s first smartphone with fingerprint recognition or fingerprint identification and will be handy to a lot of people including the intelligence guys. Motorola spokeswoman Nicola Shenton said: “This really is the ultimate smart phone for gadget fans, packed full of tech wizardry and features that any aspiring spy would be proud of.”

Presently a few websites are offering the handset itself for £435.

The Atrix registers the fingerprint of the owner (first user, rather) fingerprint through touchscreen when it is first used. After recognizing the owner’s fingerprint , it stores it in memory; thereafter it will permit operations only after fingerprint matching.

Motorola ATRIX can work like a phone, a laptop, a PC, a TV and as media centre too for daily mail reports.

Apart from being used as a feature-packed smartphone given its four-inch high-definition screen, five mega-pixel camera and video camera on the front for video calling,  Motorola ATRIX can be used as laptop or PC by using a ‘dock’.

There are two separate docks. The slimline ‘lapdock’ helps the phone work like a laptop whereas a second dock helps one turn the phone into a PC. Through a cable the Atrix can be attached to a screen and, with the help of a number of USB ports as well as Bluetooth and wireless links, it can be used as full-sized mouse and keyboard. ‘Webtop’, an exclusive ATRIX software, allows the keyboard, mouse and screen to be used as a home computer.
