Delhi High Court has ordered leading smartphone maker in India Micromax to pay royalty to Swedish mobile phone manufacturer Ericsson for breaching Ericsson’s 2G, 3G and EDGE patents. The Court has given an interim order and asked the companies to finalise the patent deal by April 9.
Micromax will have to pay royalties between 1.25% and 2% on every device it sells using Ericsson’s patent.
Ericsson seeks Rs 100 crore in damages from Micromax.
