Lava Mobiles have launched yet another phone in their Iris line up called the Iris Icon, the phone is priced at Rs 11,990 and will be available exclusively from Snapdeal.
The Iris Icon Flaunts a 5 inch 720p HD screen, it’s powered by a 1.3 Ghz Mediatek Quad-core processor which is paired with 2 GB of RAM. The phone comes with 16 GB on on-board storage which can further be expanded up to 32 GB with the help of a Micro SD card.
For the shutter bugs the phone houses a 13 MP rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5 point lens system with blue glass filter. For the selfie lovers the phone also houses a 5 MP front camera with F/2.4 aperture. The phone is powered by a 2500 mAh battery which is a bit on the lower side.
The software on the phone is unique and new, The new Star OS is based on android 4.4 kitkat and according to Lava it has been made keeping in mind the customer inputs and defined developer study. The UI still looks very nascent and looks very much like the stock android kitkat. The Star OS more software capabilities to the camera in its initial versions with more development to come in the future.
Lava also confirms the availability of Android Lollipop in the future for the Icon. On the connectivity front the phone offers dual SIM card support, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth etc.
The close competitors of the Iris Icon are the Micromax Yureka YU, the Lenovo A700 and the recently launched Microsoft Lumia 640.
