Ringing bells a Noida-based firm has launched India’s cheapest smartphone which is priced at just Rs. 251 (4$).
The phone is made to fulfill the digitize India initiative by the government and aims to put a digital smartphone in the hands of the last user of India.
The phone has a 4 inch screen and comes with a quad core chipset with 1 GB of RAM. There is a 3.2 MP rear and a 0.3 MP front camera.
The phone is capable of using 3G and has a 1450 mAh battery.
The phone is available on the website for registration and will be shipped of after 5 months, now this seems a bit choppy. Also if someone looks at their website it isn’t anything spectacular and looks like it’s made by a team of jobless students. All these factors combined with the extremely cheap price of Rs. 251 seems a bit odd and problematic. Although this doesn’t look like a scam it just might be one so it’s better to be cautious while dealing with the world’s cheapest phone.
