World’s largest telecommunications equipment maker Huawei has launched its latest Ascend Mate phablet in India at Rs 24,900.
Ascend Mate comes with 6.1-inch touch screen with 1280x720p resolution. It runs 1.5GHz quad-core Huawei processor and powered by Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system.
Ascend Mate features 2GB RAM, 8GB internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. This smartphone sports 4,050mAh battery and 8 megapixel rear camera. Ascend Mate comes 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, microUSB 2.0 and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Huawei India’s president Victor Shan said, “We will invest around 8 to 10 per cent of our mobile devices revenue in India. In 2012, our India revenue was $300 million. The spent would be mainly in strengthening our retail presence and brand building exercise,”
Ascend Mate is set to take on Samsung’s Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Galaxy Mega 5.8.
