Google Launches the ChromeCast 2

Yesterday Google at its event in San Francisco launched the new ChromeCast generation 2 along with new nexus devices. The ChromeCast is priced at $35.

The new ChromeCast now offers an even better media streaming experience than the first version. The biggest change is in the design which has now changed from a Flash Drive Stick like design to a more rounded hokey puck like design. This change was made majorly to facilitate the new WiFi component fitted inside the ChromeCast 2.

The new Chromecast will offer support for faster 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and an almost instant streaming/casting feature called Fast Play. The WiFi component used is a Dual band 2.4 GHz/5 GHz supported component; there are 3 adaptive antennas, HDMI connectivity, Fast Play and Gaming support among others.

The new ChromeCast will be available in 3 colors i.e Black, Coral and Lemonade. The new Chromecast will be released on September 29th in 17 countries.
