Earlier this week Sony has launched its flagship smartphone Sony Xperia Z in Delhi.

“The launch of Sony Xperia Z today is the start of our journey to triple the Xperia sales in India to Rs.3,500 crore in FY 13. The company has taken several steps towards this direction, including tripling the Xperia marketing budget to Rs.300 crore for FY13, more than doubling the sales channel counters to 8,000, and increasing the service touch points to 300 by FY13,” said Kenichiro Hibi, Managing Director, Sony India at the launch on Wednesday.

Priced at Rs.38,990 Sony Xperia Z comes with 5″ display. It has unique water- and dust protector.

Xperia Z is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor. It runs on Android v4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system but Sony has promised upgrade to 4.2. Ii has 13 megapixel primary camera and 16 GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card.

Sony Xperia Z is available with all major stores across the country at Rs. 38,990/-.
