Leica T- the new beauty in Aluminum

Leica branded products are guaranteed with two things namely superior style and excellence in photography. Talking about Leica T (Type 701), you can definitely look out for these two factors. The new camera that has been introduced by Leica is sure to tempt the photographers all round the world.

The peculiarity of this model is that it is built from a single block of aluminum. This model is sure a great eye candy. You will not find any range finder in this model as the earlier designs, and instead you will be able to find an optical electronic viewfinder with integrated GPS.

This camera is equipped with touch screen display and you will get to see two control dials too. Unlike the rangefinder cameras of this company, Leica T is quite smaller with 134 x 69 x 33 mm in terms of height. The camera is lighter with 339g without battery and 384g with battery. The company claims that this is the first camera to be built out of a single piece of aluminum block. And the design does make it more attractive.

The design of Leica T is a blend of both latest design blended with craftsmanship. The camera is polished by hand for about 45 minutes. You will be surprised to know that the lettering on labels is milled and hand painted unlike other cameras whose labels are simply screen printed.

Both the sides of the Leica T can be attached to a shoulder strap. This can be removed easily with the release of a pin placed in the adjacent hole.

The Leica Typ 701 is a 16.3 megapixel camera with 3:2 aspect APS-C CMOS image sensor. This camera is a photographer friendly mirror less camera. The maximum resolution of this camera while shooting in JPEG compressed mode is 4, 928 x 3, 264 pixels. Shooting in the DNG raw format will give you 4, 944 x 3, 278 pixels.

During the launch, you will be able to use only two native lenses like prime and zoom, with this model. Photographers wishing to shoot maximum quality image and light need to choose Leica Summicron-T 23 mm f/2 Asph. prime. Choosing Leica Vario Elmar-T 18-566 mm f/3.5-5.6 Asph.zoom will offer you more versatility.

With Leica T, you will be able to shoot five frames a second with a total of 12 frames captured in a slow pace as per the manufacturers. Leica T can be considered as the first camera from the company to have the feature Wi-Fi module. Pictures can be transferred to the tabs, computers or smart phones directly from camera and be shared immediately. Leica T will be available on stores from the 26^th of May 2014.

Leica T is expected to cost around Rs. 30,000 in India.
