Ye Din ROSE Nahi Aata
They say love cannot be explained, it can only be celebrated! Love comes in all forms, the love of a mother, love of a friend, love of a significant other. But, we always tend to forget one kind of love which is pure and unconditional…the love Mother Nature has for us.
And baring this in mind, the students of Ramnarain Ruia College decided to celebrate their Rose Day choosing ??Love as their theme. The idea was to create awareness among the students. All the teams of the Student body or Vidyarthi Pratinidhi Mandal (VPM) come together and work in sync each year to create magic on the D-day.
This year’s theme – ??Love was a different ball game as right from the conception to the promotion of the event was extremely challenging.
The decorations which the students had put up were minimalistic but extremely well thought. There was a huge tree put up right at the entrance of the College with little bits of paper stuck on it like leaves. These were the memories of the College penned down by the students. The entrance was a tunnel adorned with creepers and as the students entered the Quadrangle, where the main event took place they were greeted with an electric ambience. The stage resembled a forest. The aerial decorations were made of tiny bamboo sticks which looked really mesmerising. The fest commenced with an electric band performance by the students. The students jammed to amazing songs which swayed the crowd. The DJ followed suit and dished out the latest tunes and set the party in motion. after a round of dancing the focus moved on to the main event of the fest: Rose King and Rose Queen.
This is a competition held each year where students compete for the title. The elimination rounds are held in the week leading to the main event. There are 3 rounds. The first is the creativity round, second being the talent show. The third round is a photoshoot. The selected candidates put up a ramp walk in front of the Judges. The judges pose a few questions, and the one with the most confident answer takes home the crown.
The students have worked really hard towards making the fest a success. From finding sponsors to creating a live feed for their Page, the event was managed entirely by the students.
Ruia Rose Day 2016 was a great success and did a great job at putting across the message… Love for One, One for all.
