Chennai, January 09, 2015: TTF (Travel and Tourism Fair), India’s biggest travel show network opened on Friday at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam. A large number of travel and tourism organisations are showcasing top destinations for holidays, leisure and business travel.
The three-day annual trade fair has brought together more than 160 participants from all over India and abroad, including representations from 17 Indian states and 9 countries.
While Friday and part of Saturday is reserved for travel trade visitors,Saturday afternoon onwards the show is open for all, to facilitate weekend travel shopping. A visit to TTF is a delightful experience, as colourful pavilions and stalls are presenting glimpses, feel and flavour of their destinations and holiday products and packages.
Participating with private sector operators are Partner States Odisha and Gujarat and Feature States Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa and Jammu & Kashmir. Other states being represented are Andaman & Nicobar, Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Lakshadweep, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Rajasthan and West Bengal. Tamil Nadu, the Host State, also has a strong presence at TTF Chennai.
In spite of the devastating floods, elections and political uncertainty, there is a sizeable contingent from Jammu and Kashmir Tourism, including 10 private operators, pointing to the importance of tourism, and the utility of TTF as a marketing and promotion platform.
The international participation at TTF Chennai is led by Nepal, the Partner Country and New Zealand & China, the Feature Countries. TTF Chennai also has private representations from Cambodia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam. With the new Tourism Minister and Tourism Secretary at the helm of affairs, India Tourism is present with a sizeable pavilion displaying Swachh Incredible India.
Some of the prominent names in the exhibitors’ list include Tata Motors, Makemytrip.com, IRCTC, Yeti Holidays, Vythiri Village, Vythiri Resort, Orchid Highlands – Munnar, Holiday Links, Journey to Ladakh, Southern Travels, etc.
TTF is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, the Host State- Tamil Nadu, and distinguished travel industry bodies including Incredible India, Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI), Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI), Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), IATA Agents Association of India (IAAI), Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), Indian Exhibition Industry Association (IEIA) and International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE).

TTF Chennai offers fascinating glimpses of hundreds of tourist destinations from across India and the world. Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune and Surat. Guwahati was added in 2014, to include India’s North East region in the TTF network. Beyond border, Kathmandu is going to be the latest addition in TTF 2015 Series.
