The root cause of forming AAP lies in the movement called ‘India against corruption’ and it’s there in aplomb effort to politicize it for the betterment of common people. The party was officially named as Aam Admi Party on 26th November 2012. In short AAP means `YOU’ which signifies the `Janata Janardan’ of the largest democracy of the world; it absolutely goes by the party’s ideology of providing swaraj to every deserving Indian. The party symbol `a broom’ signifies India, free of corruption.
The party has eventually convinced to win the heart and support of the people of Delhi overshadowing the circumscribing `Modi Effect’ more than once within a span of less than 2 years.
One of the salient features of Aam Admi Party is “this party will function with full financial transparency. Every single rupee collected by donations will be publicly declared at party’s website.”But despite this rigorous attempt, how could a party as crystal clear as AAP accept a fund of Rs 50 lakhs from 4 fraud companies and that too in the advent of election campaign!! One has not found a soul-satisfying clarification from any AAP leader till now about this debacle. If AAP is the ultimate choice of any apolitical ‘happy-go-lucky’ or any politically educated ,socio-conscious Indian, then why will one see the petty activity of politicians quitting party and blaming to it’s former one’s as in the case of Shazia Ilmi once a devoted AAP sevak tries to malign the image of her previous party after joining hands with BJP.
Recently we have seen an ongoing heated arguments on certain issues concerning Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan(two important founding members of AAP ) showing apathy over Kejriwal being elected as national convener which seemingly lead to their ouster from AAP’S Political Affairs Committee (PAC) with Arvind Kejriwal’s plausible role in this regard, resulting cacophony among different group of loyalists in the same party[AAP]. Now is this really goes in harmony with the protocol and ideology of `Aam Admi Party’? Is the politician’s individual thought and influence undermining the party’s own underlying principles? Is it a `sham democracy’ in the name of omnipotence of a single man? To a party as transparent as AAP this kind of events do not go in parity with the undercurrent expectations of it’s numerous followers and volunteers throughout the country. Oppositions raise doubts about how could one be so dominant to singlehandedly decide upon other’s position in a party as politically perfect as AAP which can perhaps jeopardize it’s public image in the long run . May be, for this very reason Anna Hazare always avoided to politicize the then anti-corruption movement.
Arvind Kejriwal has stated that he is deeply perturbed and hurt by the ramifications going on within the party and is likely to resign from being a national convener .Now this is not a reasonable solution. If someone challenges one’s diplomacy and leadership qualities, then being one of the topmost leaders of the most politically transparent party in the country as they claim, AAP can make certain modifications in their intra-party infrastructure to sustain their faith among common people. Like, they can grant online voting rights to every Indian citizen for the selection of any responsible post or committee within the party applying all the essential legal terms and conditions. As it is a party formed only to serve the sole purpose of `Aam Admi’, so let the common people decide upon the public figures they want to see for a particular post or committee chosen among the list of members contesting for that very post or committee within the party. Again, the entire gamut depends on the AAP think tank about the decision they contemplate , and only time can justify whether it will widen the intra- political rift or pave a shining path in this inexhaustible `dance of democracy’.
