With two more deaths associated with the massive Vyapam scam, public scrutiny over the matter escalated, on Monday. A trainee SI and a constable were found dead, with their bodies being recovered from two different places in Madhya Pradesh.

SI Anamika Kushwaha’s body was found in a lake in Sugar where as that of Constable R Pandey was found hanging at Madhya Pradesh’s tourist location, Tikamgarh. However, both the dead are said to have committed a suicide for the reasons cited. Kushwaha’s father found nothing fishy in her death, though her sister suspected foul play.

Constable R. Pandey was an alcoholic, said Tikamgarh SP Nimish Agarwal, who further stated that the slain cop was depressed over increasing debt, therefore hinting the possibility of his suicide at the place he was posted.

These two deaths come in after TV Journalist Akshay Singh and Jabalpur Medical College’s dean Dr Sharma’s death.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, on Monday, asserted the deaths were unfortunate, while urging people to not link every death with the scam.

The opposition, meanwhile, said it would raise the matter in the parliament.

Union Minister Uma Bharti, whose name had also turned  up in the scam expressed fear following several deaths of those related to the scam and its investigation.

“It is a very deep conspiracy. The biggest example of the deep conspiracy is that my name is in it. Because I have nothing to do with this. If I am there, then some very serious  conspiracy is there,” Bharti told PTI on Monday.

She further added that she stood by Shivraj Ji as she was concerned about him being a sensitive person. She said Singh must be upset about these deaths.

Then speaking on the number of deaths reported in the entire time frame of the probe, Bharti, applying her own logic said, “May be nobody is killing them. But the fear and shame of innocent people are causing brain hemorrhage, heart attack or suicide. When I heard my name in Vyapam, even I went through a lot of trauma”.
