Five persons, apparently belonging to the terror outfit SIMI, were killed on Tuesday, during their bid to escape the custody, by the Telangana police. The five, lodged in Warangal prison, were to be produced in Hyderabad court and were being taken there when they attempted to escape the custody.
The five tried to escape near Janagaon in Telangana, when in an encounter the five were shot dead.
The five people include Vikaruddin Ahmed, an alleged SIMI activist and the main culprit responsible for firing on the Hyderabad police. The four others are Suleman, Zakir, Azad and Asif, all suspected SIMI terrorists. They were remanded in police custody at the Warangal Central Jail in Telangana.
