In the latest developments that surface the current international scenario, a gunman is believed to have shot a state trooper dead inside a Greyhound bus station, in Virginia, USA.
Several Virginia state troopers were apparently continuing with a fitness exercise at the station, when the gunman approached the trooper from somewhere and shot him blank in his chest. His colleagues who were in uniform at the time fired back, mortally wounding the gunman. Passersby were also injured in the shooting and rushed to the nearest hospital. Their injuries are said to be non-life endearing.
The gunman still remains to be unrecognised by the State Police department. The bus station was then shut after the incident. It is in Richmond, towards west of the ‘city’s downtown area.’ The station is said to remain shut for an unspecified period, probably until things calm down. The incident has no doubt, raised issues concerning security. The gunman’s pistol has been recovered, the police said in their statement to the media.
