After Sri Lankan citizens were mobbed and threatened in Tamil Nadu, the external affairs ministry in Sri Lanka issued a travel advisory to its nationals from visiting Southern part of India.
On Tuesday 184 Sri Lankan pilgrims were intimidated in one of the Tamil Nadu Church. The Sri Lankan government advised to avoid travel to the South India especially in Tamil Nadu until further notice.
The tension between the Sri Lankan government and Tamil Nadu politicians are increasing day by day. Recently Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa sent back a visiting Sri Lankan football team in protest of human rights abuses committed by the government of Sri Lanka during and after the war targeting Tamils. Both the leading parties in Tamil Nadu, AIADMK and DMK also wrote to Prime Minister objecting the training facility which Indian government is providing to Sri Lankan Army.
Don’t know when the politicians will stop catching fish from muddy water. When will they take part in a constructive role in bringing peace and harmony between people and help reducing violence and hatred which seep into the mind?
