Sachin Tendulkar, a name which will remain in the books of History written in Golden letters as the Maestro of Cricket finally retires leaving wonderful memories for the Tendulkar maniacs who really admire him with all their heart and soul. His insatiable efforts of making the highest records of centuries, runs and breaking the records of Senior Cricketers also makes him the “Don of the Cricket World”. A don who even at the age of 40 weaves the magic of setting highest standard of runs for the future tots to follow. The last two decades are really going to be a memorable one for all the fans and a nightmare for all the bowlers.
Sachin Tendulkar born on April 24th, 1973 began his journey in the cricket field at the age of 11. This young chap always used to have a fight with the people of his age group but after stepping into cricket it was the only thing that he had focused on. His coach Sir Ramakant Achrekar left no stone unturned to mould this young lad into the man we are seeing him today. Sachin used to always get tired while practicing on the nets for hours and so to boost his energy up, the coach used to place a 1 Rupee coin on the stumps. The bowler who dismissed Sachin would get the coin. This is the reason why Sachin is grateful to his coach even today because those attempts became the reason for him to earn 13 such coins which are the most prized achievements than any records or trophies.
At the age of 16, he made his debut in cricket by playing against Pakistan and scoring a good score of 59 runs. Soon, he was selected to represent Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy and this was the start of his career. His first double century of 204 runs was against Australia at the Braborune Stadium in 1998. Not only this, Sachin has also scored two centuries in the 1996 World Cup. His captaincy in 1996 for two years did not go that successful but he still managed to make India proud by handing over the captainship to Former player Rahul Dravid and also advising moves that were beneficial for the team. Sachin Tendulkar’s experience and eagle eyed suggestions helped the team to reach great heights of achievements.
The maestro has also won many prestigious awards at a very young age setting an example for many players to achieve the goal they should with all their struggle and perseverance. Sachin has been awarded with the second highest civilian award i.e. Padma Vibhushan followed by Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award. He is the first person to be awarded by the Indian Air Force with Group Captain Rank even without any aviation background. He is said to be the luckiest man having achieved the title ‘Honorary Member of the Order of Australia’. His presence in the 2011 World Cup, the last World Cup with the Indian Team is really going to be remembered as it was a winning occasion for India and even a little bit sad part as he was going to a step called Retirement which no one could even imagine.
Finally, the day has come when Sachin’s 200th and final test with the Indian Cricket Team is going to end and there is going to be a team which would now be lead without the maestro who had once upon a time moulded the team into a magical world of victories. Sachin is considered the best and the greatest because when to it comes to deal with the expectations of Indians, Sachin has always done his best to achieve be it even through their microscopic eyes. In a team, there is not always the chance for victory but failure too. According to Indian Cricket Team Captain MS Dhoni, we Indians just need to reduce our expectations a bit because where success comes there is always a step to be passes and that is failure. We know that the Team will not be the same as we used to see it but everything has a time and time has a change to be followed. So, this magnificent man Sachin Tendulkar, who has ruled over every trophy will be respected and remembered all through the Golden Chapters of History.
