Nemanja Vidic might not have enjoyed a great time at the back of Manchester United throughout the season but off the field he is set to renew his relationship with the club. According to the officials, United is set to offer this talismanic defender a renewal of contract of 2 years before the end of the season. In fact current contract which binds Vidic to United till now is set to be expired at the end of the running season.
The re-signing of Vidic will no doubt assure United strength at the back, especially at a time when longer serving defender Rio Ferdinand is nearing the end of his career. The stalwart 32-year old defender who is also keen to stay back at ManU will be retained with the idea of guiding the young defenders who are targeted by the team officials as future prospects. According to a source, “Nemanja’s keen to stay and will be offered a contract to suit but it looks a given that Rio will be moving on.”
With the departure of Rio, Vidic still looks to be the inspirational player whom United needs and Moyes will surely be happy to have someone in the team who has got tons of experience in all sorts of conditions.
