Mumbai Police on Wednesday morning searched the Juhu residence of actor Vindoo Dara Singh who was arrested yesterday in connection with IPL spot-fixing. Some cash has been recovered from his house.
Some media channels are claiming that Vindoo Dara Singh has named an influential figure associated with the Chennai Super Kings team. There is high possibility that police may call the person who has been named by Singh for interrogation.
According to police Vindoo Dara Singh was heavily involved with betting, however his connection with fixing is yet to be proved.
Vindoo Dara Singh has reportedly admitted his association with a close relative of the Chennai Super Kings franchise owner who placed bets through him. He was seen at the CSK VIP box, watching the game along with Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi Dhoni.
Meanwhile Delhi Police took Sreesanth to Jaipur and searched his woman friend’s house. They seized a new Blackberry Z10 phone, a pair of luxury jeans worth close to Rs 2 lakh and some more luxury items. Police claimed that Sreesanth bought all these products through his allegedly spot-fixing money.
A Delhi court had sent Sreesanth to 5 days police custody.
Sreesanth has denied the charges, “I am innocent and have done no wrong. I have never indulged in any spot fixing and I have always played cricket in the spirit of the game. As a cricketer, I have learnt to take knocks along with accolades, in my stride. I recognise that I am going through a tough period in my life. I have utmost faith in our judicial process and I am confident that with time I will be proved innocent, and my honour and dignity will be vindicated and restored,” the Indian pacer told media on Tuesday via email by his lawyer.
