Supreme Court defers fate of Lalit Modi

The future of former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi hang till January 17 when Supreme Court will open sealed envelope containing the results of Rajasthan Cricket Association election.

The Justice A R Dave bench of the Supreme Court has announced the decision on Monday.

The bench also agreed to hear the plea by BCCI over Modi’s contesting election if he emerges winner. BCCI seeks restriction on Modi’s candidature to the Rajasthan Cricket Association polls.

“Is he (Modi) more powerful that he will certainly be elected,” the bench said.
