This is India’s first ever badminton medal from Olympics. Saina also becomes the second women athlete after Karnam Maleshwari to win a medal for India in Olympics.
Xin Wang injured her knee in the second set after winning the first one 21-18, she was leading 1-0 when she retired hurt.
