Rohit Sharma’s double ton helps India to win the match as well as the series against Australia on Saturday in Bangalore. India won the match by 57 runs and won the series with 3-2.
Rohit Sharma slammed double century (209) and hit record number of 16 ‘sixes’ in the match. He becomes the third batsman in the history to score double century in the One-Day Internationals. Earlier Virender Sehwag (219) and Sachin Tendulkar (200*) scored the same.
With Rohit’s 158-ball double India made 383 for 6 in 50 overs. Sikhar Dhawan scored 60.
Chasing the mammoth score, Australia team kept losing their wickets in regular span, however, James Faulkner’s (116) century off 57 balls delayed Indian team to start its Diwali celebrations. Glenn Maxwell tried to give some fight with his heroic knock of 60 from 22 balls. But at the end they fell short of 57 runs.
