NIS Patiala expels boxer Ram Singh

National Institute of Sports of Patiala has expelled Boxer Ram Singh over drug haul case.

Ram Singh has earlier confessed that he and Vijender took drugs.

“Vijender took drugs two or three times thinking that they were food supplements. When we found out they were drugs we were shocked and stopped taking them,” said Ram.

Drug dealer Anup Singh Kahlon who had said he sold drugs to boxer Vijender Singh and Ram Singh, attempted suicide on Saturday.

“The key accused Anup Singh Kahlon attempted suicide. He took out a wire from the bucket used for bathing and tried to slit his wrist with it, but he is out of danger,” Punjab police said.

The investigations of Rs. 130 crore drug haul case is still on. Olympic bronze medallist Vijender Singh and boxer Ram Singh’s name involved in Mohali drug haul case.
