The seven time French Open champion Rafael Nadal reaches his eighth final on Friday after defeating world number one Novak Djokovic in an epic semifinal.
It took almost 4 hours 37 minutes for Nadal to outcast Djokovic with 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 6-7 (3), 9-7 win.
“It was an incredible match to play against Novak is always something unusual. We push each other to the limit,” said Nadal after the match.
“I congratulate Novak. He’s a very great champion. He will win here at Roland Garros another year,” Nadal told crowd.
“It has been an unbelievable match to be part of, but all I can feel now is disappointment. I wanted this title so much,” said Djokovic.
“Nothing comes easy to you; you’ve got to earn it. Of course the feeling is not great at the moment, but I still feel I have years in front of me. So I will come back to Paris, to this Grand Slam, and I will keep on trying to win it,” added disappointed Djokovic.
The 27-year-old Nadal will play Sunday’s final against the winner of semifinal between Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and David Ferrer.
If Nadal wins then he will create history by winning the most number of same Grnad slam title by any men.
