Legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar is replacing N Srinivasan and is set to take charge as the BCCI President.
The Supreme Court on Friday issued interim order that said it will not stop any franchise to play in the upcoming IPL 7. This paves way for Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals to continue to play the IPL 7 championship in UAE.
The two-judge bench of the Supreme Court said that Sunil Gavaskar will be taking charge for IPL 7 from Srinivasan. The Court also said that Gavaskar cannot do the commentary for being an interim president and he will be compensated for the job of interim president by BCCI.
The Supreme Court also appointed Shivlal Yadav BCCI Vice-President to take care all non-IPL related works. The Court left IPL COO Sundar Raman’s future in Gavaskar’s hand.
The Court said that no India cement employee will be associated with BCCI.
The apex court, however, refuses to pass any order regarding N Srinivasan’s participation in ICC activities.
The BCCI has meanwhile has welcomed the order and said they are pleased with the order.
