Williams F1 team ropes in Brazilian Felipe Massa to for the upcoming 2014 FIA F1 world Championship season. He will be driving alongside Valtteri Bottas, who has been the test driver for the Williams team since 2010 and is promoted to the race seat in the current season.
Felipe Massa, who has served Ferrari since 2007, would have found a tough time in the upcoming 2014 Championship had he decided to stay back in Ferrari since the Italian F1 team has signed Kimi Raikkonen for the next season. Massa has got 11 race wins and 36 podium finishes under his belt as a Ferrari driver. He made useful contributions when Ferrari won the Constructor’s Championships in 2007 and 2008.
Massa after joining his new team remarked, “Williams is one of the most successful and important teams of all time in F1. When I was a kid, I always dreamt about racing for Williams. Ferrari or Mclaren and I’m glad to be signing with another icon of the sport, following my time at Ferrari.” “It is also to remember that some of the Brazilian drivers raced for Williams and cemented a strong national link with the team”, he added.
