, FWith months to go before the kick-off in the world’s biggest event of the year in Brazil, England’s ace striker Theo Walcott has been ruled out of the tournament. It will also turn to be one of the biggest shocks for the Gunners as Walcott has already played a major part in Arsenal’s surge for the Premier League title. The news of Walcott’s injury was confirmed on the website by Arsenal. It was also confirmed that Walcott will miss the rest of the season with Arsenal due to the injury sustained in the 2-0 FA Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur, where he had to be stretchered of the field.
The Club Official website stated, “After coming off injured in Saturday’s 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur, the club regrettably announces that Theo Walcott has sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee.” It further mentions, “Theo will have surgery in London in the near future and is expected to be out for at least 6 months, therefore missing the remainder of the season and the World Cup in Brazil in the summer.”
