Manchester United officially finally made it clear that David Moyes will not be a member of the coaching staff of the team any more. Speculations were high that Moyes will be sacked by the higher officials of the club at the end of the current season. But a humiliating defeat against his former side Everton on Easter Sunday hastened the decision. The news was aired this morning in the official website of the club after the Glazers finalized the whole process.
The news came on the website headed “David Moyes leaves United”. According to the website, “The Club would like to place on record its thanks for the hard work, honesty and integrity he brought to the role.” During his tenure at United, the club suffered the most humiliating results in the Premier League era, the worst of all being the defeats at Old Trafford against weaker teams. Also the Champions League defeat against Bayern Munich was one of those worst results.
Reports suggest that Ryan Giggs will take up the job from Moyes for the rest of the season. The names which have been proposed to be the successor of at the helm of United’s managerial process include the likes of Juergen Klopp, Simione (currently manager at Atletico Madrid), and former Red Devil Laurant Blanc. But at the moment Louis Van Gaal seems to be the most favoured person for the job. But for the final decision to be made we have to wait till the beginning of the new season.
