The Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger feels that Real Madrid’s world record bid of £100m for Tottenham’s forward Gareth Bale is a ‘joke’.
Real which has signed Isco from Malaga and Asier Illarramendi from Real Sociedad for £26.5m, has Real has quoted £100m+ bid for Bale. Tottenham asks £105-million Gareth-Bale.
“It makes a joke of the financial fair play regulations. I find it amazing that in the year the regulations come in, world football has gone completely crazy. You wonder what kind of impact and effect financial fair play has on the football world. It looks like it has made everybody worse than before,” Wenger said.
“But I feel more under pressure to spend the money in the right way and that’s what I’ll try to do,” he added.
Arsenal meanwhile continues “working hard” to pursue Luis Suárez from Liverpool, its earlier bid of £40m was rejected by Liverpool.
Till now Edinson Cavani gets the most ex pensive deal this summer, with his £57m move from Napoli to Paris Saint-Germain, Falcao’s transfer cost Monaco £53m from Atlético and Santos charged £50m for Neymar from Barcelona.
